November has been a a whirlwind month. A month of ups and downs. But above all a month of photographing 3 wonderful couples, in gorgeous settings and beautiful weather!
Firstly I met the wonderful Sam & Lizzy, a fireman and an air hostess from Reading who are getting married on Lizzy's parents farm in Portloe. When you see the photos you'll understand why!!! With rolling hills down to the coastal path and fields of inquisitive cows, it was stunning!
I then met Charlotte & Obie with the lovely pup Willow at Golitha Falls. Poor Willow gets very travel sick, but hopefully the falls made up for the 40 minute journey! Charlotte and Obie are already married, they married in Jamaica two years ago. So to mark their two years together, a wonder through the gorge and along the river with Willow was perfect!
And finally, my last couple - the wonderful Alicia and Simon. Like a fairytale, they met working at Disney Land Paris! They don't get to see each other often with their busy schedules, so for their first weekend together in months Alicia surprised Simon with a walk in the woods at Haldon Forest... to my little bamboo tipi, kitted out with pillows and blankets, then we hunted down some christmas trees! (Thank you to Dartmoor Christmas Trees for letting us use your display!)
This is the wonderful wedding of Sammie & Mike.
I met them at The Balmer Lawn Hotel Brockenhurst, in the heart of the New Forest on a gorgeous autumn day.
I strolled in to the hotel reception as guests were gathering and their son Harry was running round excited.
The ceremony was full of gorgeous sunlight shining through the windows, happy guests and lots of giggles from Sammie and Mike. Although I think it was all too much for Harry towards the end. So we picked him up, dusted I'm off and set him free on the lawn to run around while everyone sipped on Pimms and Bucks Fizz.
Their tables were decked out with flowers, sweets, games and Polaroid photos of everyone at the wedding - such a lovely touch!
Before it was time for me to leave and for them to enjoy dinner and their evening ahead, I whisked them off round the corner to this little barn which had cute light bulbs and stunning tiles - I wanted to take it home with me!
"Me & My Petey"
This is the wonderful wedding of Katie & Pete. A truly lovely couple who I am delighted to say have become more than just clients since they booked me to photograph their wedding - and not just because every time I met them we ended up in Zizzi's eating pizza (that was just a lucky bonus!) These two were just amazing, from day one, so happy and in love.
I had the lovely Carly from C Y Wild Photography helping me out for the day - who is ruddy fantastic behind the camera! We met Pete outside Harrison Hall, in Charlton Down just outside Dorchester, with its stunning high ceilings of the ballroom, the stain glass windows and the glorious September sun - we were set for an awesome day ahead!
As the guests meandered down the corridor to the ballroom, I patiently awaited Katie's arrival. She stylish arrived in a kitted out green Ford (yes that's the technical term I'm sure), with her Dad and Bridesmaid.
And of course SHE LOOKED STUNNING!
After the ceremony it was straight outside to enjoy some September sunshine with Pimms!
It was soon time to head back inside for a scrumptious afternoon tea, cake, speeches, magic and an evening of celtic barn dancing!
What more could you want from a wedding?! <3
It was soon time for the arrival of Lizzie, who looked absolutely stunning. She was quiet and nervous as she stepped out of the car, awaiting the walk down the aisle.
The service at St George's was probably one of the most special services I have attended in my career as a photographer. Not only did Tim choose to get married on his cousin's 21st birthday, so the whole wedding party sang her Happy Birthday before the ceremony, the Vicar Penny, is Tim's Mum. What an amazing feeling it must have been to marry your son.
After a beautiful ceremony and just as the torrential rain finished, we descended down the aisle in to the sunshine, ready for family photos, confetti and of course some couple portraits. Before I left them all to dinner and drinks.
Deep in the countryside of Southampton lies The Meon Valley Marroitt Hotel and Golf Club, where Daniel and Rich's celebrations would take place. With the venue full of smiley guests patiently waiting to be greeted by Daniel with open arms and a very emotional entrance by Richard.
The ceremony was full of laughter and tears. I can safely say I don't think I have ever seen a couple so happy to finally be married. It was beautiful.
The weather was unfortunately not on our side, so we all headed to the bar for celebratory drinks and I managed to whisk Richard & Daniel off down to the lake on a golf buggy!
It was soon dinner time, which meant speeches time! Roars of laughter and floods of tears filled the room. Every speech was hilariously beautiful!
Followed by an evening of dancing and entertainment - and by entertainment I mean Rich's amazing dance moves! But just before all that we must cut the cake and the couple need to do their first dance.
Seeing that Daniel is Spanish, it is a Spanish tradition to cut the wedding cake with a sword, which was pretty spectacular!
