Ah, Cornwall. If you live here, are getting married here, or have even visited once, you’ll know the weather likes to do its own thing. One minute it’s blue skies and sunshine, the next it’s misty, windy or chucking it down with rain. And honestly? That’s part of the magic.
As a Cornwall wedding photographer, I get asked about the weather a lot. And I always say the same thing – the weather isn’t something to stress about, it’s something to lean into. Some of the most emotional, cinematic and unforgettable weddings I’ve photographed have happened in less-than-perfect conditions. And, I will always have my dry robe on hand if required.
Always Prepared for Whatever Cornwall Throws at Us

I come prepared. Always.
Alongside my cameras, I carry coats, dry robes and layers – especially for beach visits. If we’re heading to the coast and the wind picks up or the rain rolls in, I’ve got you covered. Quite literally.
I’ve stood in torrential rain in my dry robe, absolutely soaked from the knees down, photographing a ceremony while the couple stayed warm and dry under their stretch tent. And do you know what? The atmosphere was unreal. The sound of the rain, the closeness of everyone under cover, the emotion – it was one of those moments you couldn’t plan, but you also wouldn’t change.
That’s Cornwall weddings in a nutshell.

Why Cornish Weather Makes Wedding Photos Even Better

Perfect weather is lovely… but unpredictable weather tells a story.
Wind gives movement to dresses, veils and hair. Clouds soften the light. Rain slows everything down and pulls people closer together. And when the sun does break through after a shower? It’s absolute magic.
Some of my favourite images exist because the weather did something unexpected. Couples holding hands tighter, laughing through the rain, wrapping themselves into each other to keep warm. These moments are real, honest and full of feeling – and they’re the ones you’ll remember.
Couples Who Embrace the Weather Always Get the Best Moments

The couples who get the most out of their wedding photos are the ones who go with the flow. The ones who say, “Let’s just do it anyway.” The ones who don’t mind a bit of wind, sand or rain if it means soaking up the experience.
Your wedding outfit is your wedding outfit – whether you’re a bride and groom, bride and bride, or groom and groom. I know there’s only so much flexibility there. But small things like shawls, wraps, umbrellas or even just stepping outside for five minutes can make such a difference. And I promise, I’ll never push you into anything uncomfortable.
Trust Me, I’ve Got You

I’ve photographed weddings in every kind of Cornish weather imaginable. I know when to wait, when to move quickly, when to shelter, and when to say, “This is actually perfect.”
My job is to keep things calm, relaxed and enjoyable – no matter what’s happening outside. You focus on getting married. I’ll handle the rest.
Your Cornwall Wedding, Rain or Shine

At the end of the day, your wedding isn’t about the forecast. It’s about the way you felt. The way you laughed. The way you held hands a little tighter when the wind picked up.
Cornwall is wild, beautiful and unpredictable – and that’s exactly why it makes such an incredible place to get married. If you’re happy to embrace it, I’ll be right there with you. Dry robe on, camera in hand, ready for whatever the day brings.
