Ashlea & Andrew contacted me when they were planning a trip to Cornwall to visit Andrew's family. Although Andrew was born English he grew up in America where he met the wonderful Ashlea. They wanted Cornish beauty and also ruins so we headed off to Restormel Castle - a 13th century circular keep with panoramic views, it was definitely a WOW factor day!!! We spent our time exploring the keep, climbing the stairs, and adventuring in to the woodland beyond the castle...
So I have been living in Cornwall for nearly 8 months now, it is the Easter holidays and we are on the move from St Austell to Newquay. A move I have been anxious about for a while but it was happening regardless. It's the Easter holidays and the move is on! It was stressful, annoying, I dislocated my ankle and it turns out washing machines are bloody heavy!!! All a bit hectic to be honest! But, with help, we got there and we are in our cute 1 bed maisonette in Porth which I adore! The weekend came, we had unpacked and, for the first time in what felt like a long time, the sun was shining. We enjoyed lie in's, muddy coastal walks, surfing (I even managed to finally stand up!!!) and amazing sunsets. Newquay grab hold of me & wrapped me up in wonderfulness. It's Time To Grow The past week has been a bit of a whirl wind! My partner and I have had a plan to move to Cornwall for a while, a lovely part of the world I am sure you will all agree. After receiving a call last Tuesday for a job interview to become a Science teacher in St Austell, we were there by Wednesday evening ready for him to be in school for Thursday morning. After a few days of being in the school and a weekend of interview practice and lesson planning, Monday soon came and it was interview day! As you can probably guess... he got the job! And I am pretty excited to call this place home! This will be our local beach, Carlyon Bay. This beach is slowly becoming more commercialised and vacation friendly, with a pop-up bar, BBQ and seafood restaurant. They even do open air cinema nights where you can hire hot tubs. I think it is safe to say I will be very happy here! Another beautiful place just 7 miles from St Austell is the stunning harbour town of Mevagissey. With extremely narrow streets and winding lanes opening out on to this small but idillic harbour, I think I can easily spend and afternoon getting lost here. After a lovely dinner in one of the local restaurants, The Harbour Tavern, we strolled around the harbour and were greeted by a stunning sunset with the moon by the light house.
