COVID-19 And Your Wedding

13/3/2020

The UK has gone in to panic buying pasta and loo roll, the government are debating whether or not schools should close and gatherings of 100 people or more should be cancelled. While I'm wondering if I can still surf and everything will be ok!

We can't ignore it anymore. What will happen to your 2020 wedding with this virus?!

Well, I am planning on attending EVERY wedding I have booked in my dairy - and no I am not planning on showing up in a hazmat suit or wearing a face mask!

However, in the event that the sea and my multi vitamins can't save me from the dreaded lurgy, I of course will not rock up to your wedding ready to infect all your guests. In case of this event, I will treat it like any other illness as outlined in my contract. Behind the scenes the wedding industry is busy pulling together to form the COVID-19 alliance, so we can support each other if we need to.  Meaning I will find someone awesome to cover for me on the day!

But if you are in extreme panic - we have options!

NUMBER 1: Scale Down Your Day!
If you're having more than 100 guests it may be worth rethinking and cutting down your numbers, to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

NUMBER 2: Postpone Your Day!
Yes, I am not a huge fan of this one either as I am super excited for all my 2020 weddings! But if you are in that much of panic over the Coronavirus, it may be an option to think about.

My Advice

Despite our options, I am not in panic over the COVID-19 outbreak. As I have said I am eagerly awaiting 2020 wedding season to kick off next week! I would be chatting to your wedding venues to ensure they have deep cleans and protocols in place to help reduce the spread of the virus. Chat to your guests and family to make sure they are cleaning their hands thoroughly, using the highly recommended method of singing Happy Birthday while they do this. Or perhaps another song of their choice! I would also recommend to all your guests to not show up to your wedding in a face mask - although it may make the wedding photos slightly more amusing to look back on!

Happy to see that an opening has been made at the Eurofins Forensic Services. Since I have gotten a recognition in this field just as I make them work insight, I want to land this position of junior analyst.
